Gaming while female means I have to endure this crap
I’ve gotten used to bad commercials for video games. Especially when it comes to representing women who game. But the latest commercial for Uncharted 2 goes a step farther.
*sigh*
When I Googled for this commercial, the hits I did find thought this was hilarious. Some days it sucks being a female gamer.

Yeah, what a terrible advertisement. A bunch of us at the Iris Network mocked it over here, if you want to join us and not feel so alone!: http://forums.theirisnetwork.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1889
It’s a shame because in reality Uncharted 2 is one of the most inclusive–or at least inoffensive–games out there! Its female characters in particular are just fantastic.

It’s like the people who make the adverts either aren’t gamers or don’t know the content of the game. They’re relying on the stereotype of gamers. But then I guess that’s pretty indicative of advertising in general.
